■ Milford Sound – the most famous visitor destination in New Zealand. It is unspoilt nature at its best with spectacular sights of waterfalls cascading from sheer rock faces rising 1,200 metres or more from the sea, lush rain forests clinging precariously to the cliffs, and numerous seals, penguins and dolphins frequenting the waters. The flight from Queenstown takes you over truly impressive mountain scapes and glaciers before treating you to the birds-eye view of Milford Sound. On landing, a cruise out onto the Sound allows you to be up close and personal with the wildlife and the awesome peaks which tower out of the sea.
■ The gold mining areas in and around Queenstown on the South Island, such as Skippers Canyon, Macetown and Arrowtown. Queenstown really began when gold was discovered there in the 1860’s and now the landscape still tells a fascinating tale of that heritage with 4WD tracks and rivers taking you through the routes originally forged by the pioneers. Shops in the small settlement of Arrowtown still display original facades from that time and many adventures are now created around the goldrush.
■ Glenorchy and Mt Aspiring National Park, a short drive from Queenstown along Lake Wakatipu. The setting for many scenes from the Lord of the Rings movie, the moss-covered original beech forests in this World Heritage Area make it an unmissable part of any visit to New Zealand. Crystal-clear braided rivers, beautiful unspoilt forest and snow-capped mountains – perfect for wilderness safaris, exclusive marquee dinner locations and the base for many adventures.
■ Queenstown is the jewel in the crown in New Zealand. A fantastic combination of cosmopolitan living and backcountry beauty – all within easy reach of the conference or incentive group. Queenstown’s breathtaking scenery, world-class cuisine and exciting adrenalin-fuelled activities together with luxurious spas, award-winning wineries and world-class golf courses make this an unparalleled destination.
■ Rotorua on New Zealand’s North Island provides a landscape place like no other with its colourful geo-thermal parks, natural hot pools and bubbling mud pools, not to mention the many lakes and wealth of Maori heritage.
■ Take a jetboat trip. Designed in New Zealand, the jetboat is now an iconic activity particularly in Queenstown, where there are as many as five different jetboat trips to choose from. All in different locations but all offering the same excitement, speed and the trademark 360° spins.
■ Helicopter with glacier landing. Helicoptering in New Zealand is accessible and cost-effective with some of the most experienced pilots in the world. Queenstown offers some breathtaking flights in and around the Southern Alps which can incorporate glacier and mountain top landings. The best way to really make your group feel special.
■ Winery tour in Gibbston Valley. New Zealand wine has always focussed on the quality end of the market resulting in some fabulous award-winning wineries. Nowhere more so than in the Gibbston Valley near Queenstown, best known for its robust pinot noir and crisp Rieslings. Wine tasting here delivers some great experiences, not only from the wine but also from the stunning scenery and beautiful wineries many of them serving first-class lunches or private dinners.

With a population of only 4.2 million, the overwhelming impression of the land is pure and green, with fresh air and clean waters. From the majestic fiords and Southern Alps of the South Island, to the ancient native rainforests and silver, sandy bays of the North Island, New Zealand is a land of awesome beauty. Queenstown (Māori: Tahuna) is a resort town in Otago in the south-west of New Zealand's South Island, built around an inlet called Queenstown Bay on Lake Wakatipu, a long thin Z-shaped lake formed by glacial processes, and has spectacular views of nearby mountains such as The Remarkables, Cecil Peak, Walter Peak and just above the town; Ben Lomond and Queenstown Hill.
